The creative process will always reveal how close we are willing to get to ourselves. There is no shortcut. There is no option to pass go and collect two hundred dollars. The only way out is through.

I work with a lot of writers who don’t consider themselves to be real writers. Now, this might not seem very important, but it’s an essential part of the creative process.

It may seem slightly absurd that I am opening my blog with this question. But there’s a reason I chose to begin here.
